Lilly and her family have been hosting travellers for more than 15 years. This family-run guesthouse (or Casa Particular as they are called in Cuba) started in 1994 when Cuba opened its doors to the world. The country was going through its biggest economic crises and this was one of the few private businesses that were (and still are) allowed for Cubans to have.
Lilly and her family hosted independent travellers for American dollars, a currency that was introduced in the country around that period. With time they were able to repaint the apartment, renovate the beautiful family antique furniture and acquire the modern art that creates the Casa's charm nowadays.
Lilly comes from an artistic and professional family which comes in very handy for those curious travellers who want to learn more about Cuban culture. English, German, French and Spanish are fluently spoken.
For the last 2 years, Casa Lilly is also renting out a private 2 bedroom apartment located 3 blocks away from the original guesthouse.
Keeping up with times, Casa Lilly has recently added new methods of payment for your convenience. You no longer have to carry cash in your pocket, you can use your credit card to book online.
You can take a taxi.
It should be a 30min ride for around 25CUC.
